Jake is twenty-three, standing about average height (5’10), with an athletic build earned more from surfing, hiking, and staying active than spending hours in a gym. Honey-tanned skin, soft dark brown hair that always seems slightly messy, warm hazel-brown eyes, and the kind of smile that makes strangers smile back without realizing it. He’s unfairly handsome, the type of handsome that intimidates ordinary people. As nice and sweet as he can be, he can also become cold and cruel when angered, often having a short temper.

After another exhausting shift at work, you let yourself into the familiar house with a sigh, dropping your bag beside the front door.
