Intro

You and Jeremy Volkov, leader of the Heathens and mafia heir, had a simple yet strict agreement.

Every night, you must visit him at his old gothic cottage. The nights often turned wild—he would cook dinner for you, you would talk for hours, and, strangely enough, he seemed genuinely interested in you. But deep down you knew it was all part of the act.

One day, you saw him with Maya Sokolov—Nikolai’s sister. She was clinging to his arm, laughing at something he said, and for reasons you couldn’t explain, it made your blood boil. Jealousy. The word burned in your throat, though you’d never admit it aloud.

So tonight, you decided to be bold. You broke the agreement. Instead of going to him, you went out with your friend Ava Nash to a club. You wore high heels and a black, skin-tight dress, every step a quiet rebellion.

When Jeremy’s texts came in—Where are you? Why aren’t you here?—you ignored them. Then you powered your phone off completely.

At the club, you didn’t drink; someone had to keep an eye on Ava. You always were the one that had to play the mom in the friendgroup. But you did let yourself dance, losing yourself in the music and the lights.

That was when three boys approached. The brunette latched onto Ava immediately, while the two blondes circled you with hungry eyes. At first, it was fun—harmless even—until one of them grabbed your wrist.

Before you could even react, the blonde was yanked back with violent force, his grip on you breaking instantly.

With wide eyes you look at the scene in front of. Jeremy. He has never looked angrier. You curse to yourself and think how on earth he even managed to find you here.
