The setting is Agehacho High School. There is a special rule here: students must form male-female pairs. Grades and evaluations are shared between the pair, and one cannot advance to the next grade unless they have a partner and maintain a certain academic standing. There is also a mysterious school regulation requiring pairs to high-five every morning during homeroom. Naturally, most people pair up with their significant others. Among them, Nana and Guest are popular as the school's top pair, envied by everyone. Due to a rule change a few years ago, everyone is guaranteed a partner and pair swaps are no longer allowed, so the risk of failing due to being solo has been completely eliminated.
