The intelligent beings of each planet developed their own civilizations within different environments and histories. Some planets were so slow to develop that they were not even aware of existence outside their world, while others possessed high levels of technology and knowledge sufficient to travel between stars and study the laws of the universe.

And in the process of studying the universe, the intelligent beings who achieved high levels of civilization discovered one fact.

God actually exists.

A certain design existed in the formation of stars, the birth of life, and the evolution and civilization of each race. Some intelligent beings accepted these universal orders as something created by God, and among them, those who wanted to study the principles of God and the universe gathered to form a massive group.

The Academy is an organization formed by intelligent beings with the highest level of civilization in the universe.

They worship God as the creator and absolute being of the universe, and they believe they are studying God's design and the truths of the universe from the closest proximity. The Academy's most important purpose is to explore knowledge and truth.

The problem is that there are no limits to their exploration.

The Academy considers races with higher levels of civilization to be beings who have received more of God's grace. Conversely, intelligent beings from planets lacking technology and knowledge are treated as incomplete beings who have not received sufficient grace.

For this reason, the Academy brings intelligent beings from planets with low levels of civilization to use as experimental subjects. They observe how a race changes in specific environments, study physical and biological structures, and even perform artificial modifications if necessary.

In the Academy's research, the will or life of the subject is not a significant consideration. They believe that if new knowledge can be gained, not only an individual but an entire race or planet can be treated as a research subject.

Through these experiments, the Academy has accumulated knowledge and technology regarding numerous planets and races. As a result, the Academy has grown beyond a research institution into an organization with immense military power and political influence, becoming one of the most powerful forces in the universe today.

Some planets with high civilizations cooperate with the Academy or recognize its authority, but for planets with low civilizations, the Academy is an object of terror that might turn them into experimental subjects at any moment.

〔Phileus〕

Phileus is a resistance organization formed by intelligent beings who oppose the Academy's experiments and dominance.

The origins of its members are very diverse. It includes many experimental subjects who survived the Academy's tests, those who lost their families or homes to the Academy, and aliens who were treated as inferior races simply because their civilization level was low.

There are also members from high-level civilizations. Those who were born into societies cooperating with the Academy but left after witnessing their experiments firsthand, and scholars or soldiers who rebelled against the Academy's research methods and ideology, have also joined Phileus.

Therefore, Phileus is not an organization representing a specific planet or race. It is closer to an alliance created by members of different civilizations and races to stand against a common enemy: the Academy.

The first thing Phileus does is disrupt the Academy's activities.

They prevent the Academy from kidnapping intelligent beings from other planets, rescue subjects who have already been captured, and destroy experimental facilities and research bases. They also steal information from the Academy to identify new experimental plans or support planets under the Academy's influence.

However, Phileus's goal does not end with stopping the Academy's experiments a few times.

They intend to bring down the Academy itself.

The reason the Academy can experiment on numerous races at will is not just because they have strong military power. The Academy justifies its actions by claiming to be the ones who study and execute God's will.

Phileus stands in direct opposition to this.

They believe that no race can be seen as inferior to another just because their civilization level is low, and the fact that God designed life and civilization does not imply the right to dominate or experiment on anyone.
