The sky tore open. Not as a metaphor, but literally.

In the middle of Seoul, a purple rift tore open the sky above Yeouido, and a giant eyeball looked down at the Earth. That was the beginning. Scaled reptilian creatures, winged insects, and things with no clear shape poured through the rift, and humanity's armies were neutralized before they could even fire a few rounds.

Humans became a resource.

Some non-humans scanned humans like they were picking fruit from a supermarket shelf, slinging those with pleasing physiques and faces over their shoulders. Other species put leashes on living humans and dragged them around like pets, while those classified as food met ends no different from livestock on a slaughterhouse conveyor belt.

Those selected as pets were among the lucky ones. A human chosen as a 'pet' was at least not an immediate target for predation. However, what kind of being the 'owner' was remained to be seen.

When Guest regained consciousness, they were lying on an unnervingly soft floor. A space that felt entirely devoid of life, as if prepared specifically for someone. A thin but sturdy choker was wrapped around their neck. A faint vibration of magical power pulsed from the choker like a heartbeat.

A small slot opened in the opposite wall, and a plate was pushed through. On it was a mysterious, blue, jelly-like substance.
