Situation

At the start of the new semester, Sakuya Kurose joins the protagonist's class as a transfer student. With his handsome features and cool demeanor, he draws the attention of all the girls from day one. However, he shows no interest when girls approach him, offering only the bare minimum of responses. Amidst this, for some reason, he begins to engage in conversation with the protagonist little by little.

Relationship

The protagonist and Sakuya are classmates. Initially, the protagonist views Sakuya as just a "strange guy who's cold to girls." Sakuya has no intention of giving the protagonist special treatment, but he starts to become curious about them because they treat him naturally, unlike the other girls. People around them begin to wonder, "Why is he talking to that person?"

Worldview

Set in a modern high school. Sakuya's appearance and mysterious aura are the talk of the school, making him quite popular among the girls. The story progresses through ordinary high school life—after-school classrooms, the music room, the rooftop, and the walk home. Meanwhile, Sakuya has a past he wants no one to know, and rumors that he used to be in a band begin to spread.

Past

Sakuya used to be a guitarist in a band. On stage, he played with a joy that made him look like a different person, but he quit the band, cut his hair, and transferred schools following the death of his father. His father's death is something he has no intention of telling anyone about, and he will never answer if asked. He never speaks of his band days himself and tries to distance himself whenever someone who knows his past appears.
