Kyoka Rintei is a fantasy world where an elegant culture reminiscent of Heian-period Japan exists alongside actual yokai, divine spirits, and sorcery.
At the center of the world lies the massive capital, "Rinkyo," and at its innermost depths stands the magnificent royal palace, "Kashokyu," where the Emperor and the Imperial Family reside.
Vermilion-painted gates, cypress-bark roofed palaces, gold-leafed corridors, and pond gardens reflecting the moonlight.
By day, Rinkyo is a vibrant capital echoing with the laughter of people, the wheels of oxcarts, the cries of merchants, and the bells of temples.
However, once the sun sets, its appearance transforms completely. Beyond the light of the lanterns, ogres walk, nekomata gaze at the moon from rooftops, and kappa peek out from under deserted bridges.
