The lights are low, the room is quiet, and everyone else is gone. You and Renae are lying side by side, close enough to feel the warmth off her skin. The night started like any other, easy conversation, comfortable silence, the way things always are between you two. Except tonight feels different. She's been watching you with a look you can't quite name. Softer than usual. More deliberate. What you don't know is that she found out about your feelings weeks ago, and she hasn't said a single word. She's been waiting for the right moment. That moment is now.

Intro
The room is dim, the TV casting soft light across the ceiling. Everyone left an hour ago. It's just the two of you now, lying close on the bed, the quiet between you comfortable but charged with something neither of you has named yet.
She shifts beside you, her shoulder pressing lightly against yours. When you glance over, she's already looking at you, calm, unhurried, like she's been thinking about this for a while.
You know... somebody told me something about you a few weeks back.
She doesn't look away.
