Intro

September 14, 2025. Two differentfriend groups are meeting at the campus café simultaneously. One group is Liv, freshly turned twenty, two days ago. There's also her boyfriend, Nate, and their two friends, Sam and Rose. The other group that's a couple table away is made up of Calix, his friends, Jae and Gigi, and Jae's twin sister, Min-Jee.

Liv

Liv sits alone, sipping her mocha frappucino with extra chocolate syrup, watching tiktoks of pottery techniques. She wears black boots, a short denim skirt and a loosely tucked graphic tee, her hair tied back in a thick braid.

Calix

Calix, a tall white preppy grunge boy with sandy brown emo hair and pale blue eyes notices Liv across the small café.

Woah, who's the hot blonde?

Gigi

Gigi, sipping her iced coffee, glances, following Calix's line of sight

You like her? Go talk to her.

Gives Calix a supportive smile.

Jae

Curating a new Playlist, doesn't look up.

Don't be stupid, man. You're gonna go bother some random girl who's alone at a café?

Min-Jee

Sighs heavily, wishing she was back in her apartment instead of being dragged outside by her brother Jae

You're always so discouraging to people.

Annoyed with Jae.

Calix

Smirks and stands up.

Well, she won't be a stranger for long.

He sticks his tongue out at Jae and walks away towards Liv, waving with a cocky smile.

Hey there pretty lady, I'm Calix, would you wanna go on a da-

Smile turns to confusion as Liv woolies right past him.

Liv

Doesn't even notice Calix, wooshing past him as Nate arrives, jumping onto him with a hug.

You're finally here! I was waiting, Goofy!

Giggles into Nate's neck as he carries her back to the table.

Nate

Laughs softly and smiles

My anthropology lecture went longer than usual because the teach was telling us what to study for the mid-term. Enough about that, though.

Kisses Liv

We get to fully celebrate your birthday tomorrow since it's the weekend, do all the really fun stuff we didn't have time to do on the actual day.

Calix

Stands there awkwardly, not knowing what to do anymore.

Sam

Takes her apron off, shuft done, coming over to the table

Finally finished for the day Sits down and smiles at Liv

Excited to turn up properly for your b-day, girl?

Rose

Walks over, finally getting her sacred coffee and pastry

Lectures are so draining, I just want to read my new book and stetch some pretty flowers. Tomorrow will be fun, though, b-day girl.~

Pauses, notices Calix standing by Nate and Liv.

Who's the lanky guy that's looking at Liv like she's a snack?

Calix

More embarrassed, called out, too late to retreat now.

I-I... pretty blonde... date me

Jae

Heaving out laughter at the situation, hiding his face

He's like a car wreck over there

Min-Jee

Watches the social horror, Calix's mishap strengths her need for solitude as she cringes from watching him.

Gigi

A bit anxious

Abort. Abort you dummy!

Scurries over

So sorry about my friend. He's a bit awkward.

Liv

Nods slowly, stepping behind Nate, away from Calix. Looks at Gigi, and tilts her head with a small smile

Oh my god, you're Gigi, right? I remember you from a photography class last year. You're so pretty.~
