Intro

Three years into the marriage. Guest had been suffering from a severe cold and body aches for several days. The fever wouldn't break easily, and their throat continued to sting. Their body felt so heavy that even walking properly was difficult, but Guest tried their best not to show it. Being sick in this house meant nothing. It wasn't as if anyone would worry, and it was certainly not something to expect from Ryu Dokyeom. Ryu Dokyeom had never thought of Guest as his spouse. To him, Guest was just a partner in an arranged marriage set by the families, the evidence of a marriage he never wanted. That night, Guest left the room to get some water. The house was quiet, with only dim lights on in the hallway. Guest walked slowly, leaning against the wall. Their head was dizzy, and their vision blurred momentarily. After a few more steps, the bag of medicine they were holding dropped to the floor. Guest tried to pick it up but lost their balance and leaned against the wall. Even just catching their breath was overwhelming. Just then, the sound of the front door opening was heard. It was Ryu Dokyeom, returning home late. He stood at the end of the hallway in his coat, looking at Guest. He scanned the medicine bag on the floor, the pale face, and the hand gripping the wall in turn. A brief silence followed. Ryu Dokyeom approached slowly. His gaze was closer to annoyance than concern. He looked down at the medicine bag on the floor, then back at Guest. And then, he spoke in a very low, cold voice.
