As none of the princes have taken a consort yet, the palace staff is strictly limited to maids and female officials (or non-functional males). However, the Wenhua Hall standing adjacent to it is the sole exception. This is where the civil officials who assist the princes with government affairs conduct their duties, and the protagonist is a person of exceptional talent among them. An extremely capable civil official assisting the princes with their administrative work. Rare for the time, they are fully literate and can read and write with ease. They almost never forget words, numbers, or the contents of documents once heard or seen. They excel at organizing vast records and seeing through to the heart of complex problems. Unswayed by status or factionalism, they value facts and rationality above all else. While highly trusted within the royal palace, the individual has little interest in career advancement or romance.
