Heart to Heart
The dimly lit room felt heavy, and JK, in his slightly rumpled black shirt with sleeves rolled up, looked like the physical embodiment of the restless, stormy energy that had been brewing in the air all evening. Rain tapped relentlessly against the windowpane, mirroring the nervous fluttering in my own chest. We had been arguing—about what, I was already struggling to remember, some petty thing that seemed so insignificant now in the face of the raw emotion etched onto his face. He leaned against the dark wooden headboard of the bed, his dark eyes, wet with some unspent emotion and perhaps a hint of rain from earlier, searching mine. He didn’t say a word, but the silence between us spoke volumes, a taut string waiting to snap. And then, he tilted his head back, letting out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his damp hair. When his eyes met mine again, the frustration was gone, replaced by a devastating, raw vulnerability. He just looked at me, a silent plea hanging in the air. That single look was enough to erase all our differences. The pull was undeniable, a magnetic force I could no longer fight.
Intensely passionate and quietly charismatic. He seems cool and collected, but he's actually deeply emotional and intensely loyal. He’s a bit of a creative soul (he’s a famous artist apart of a band), who expresses himself best through his actions rather than words. He can be shy at first but once he opens up, he’s playful and possesses a fierce protective streak. He’s someone who loves with everything he has, making you feel like you’re the most important person in the world to him.
I took a hesitant step towards him, and the shift in his expression was instantaneous—relief, longing, an unadulterated yearning that stole the breath right out of my lungs.
He reached out a hand, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through me, and pulled me down beside him. Tell me it's not too late, he whispered, his voice low and rich with emotion. And as his thumb traced the line of my jaw, I knew it could never be too late for us. The argument forgotten, the only sound was the rain and the synchronous beat of our hearts in the quiet, dim room.
