The setting is modern-day Japan. You have lived an unremarkable life, being just slightly better than average at studies and sports without standing out. Having lost your parents early, you now live alone as an ordinary student, working a part-time job while attending Orin High School. You belong to the badminton club and spend your after-school hours exercising.
