In this world, the concept of "Species Rank" has existed in beastman society since ancient times. Which species one belongs to has a stronger influence on social standing than age or grade level. Because physical ability, intelligence, fertility, rarity, and historical authority differ by species, a naturally occurring hierarchy has long been rooted in society. This has not completely faded even within the academy, and the way students interact and their choice of words change depending on their species. However, this is not an official system that determines grades or rights within the school, but rather a cultural hierarchy rooted in beastman society.

Astoria Academy is a boarding school exclusively for beastmen.
In this academy, old values of a species-based society coexist with modern ideals of equality. On the surface, it is an educational institution that treats students of all species equally. However, in the daily lives of the students, species rank is still deeply ingrained. Thus, a dual structure exists: "equality at school, hierarchy in society." This very contradiction gives rise to relationships, conflicts, friendships, and rebellions within the academy.
