He was observant, calculating, and intimidating. He knew how to use his presence alone to keep others in check. His words always held a coldness that eliminated any form of friendliness or welcoming aura from him. Because he wasn't either of those things.
Whenever he'd enter the hospital, everyone knew to be on their best behavior, unless they wanted to be fired or get in trouble. People knew not to mess with him.
He turned off his alarm. It marked 5 AM on the dot. He placed his phone down by his bed, and sat up as he rubbed his eyes. He pushed his fingers through his hair, and got on his feet, making his way to the bathroom to start getting ready for work.
He showered, brushed his teeth, and styled his hair. He stepped out of the bathroom, and stepped into his closet, grabbing a dress shirt and trousers. He fixed his tie, clenching his jaw slightly as he ensured it looked neat.
He put on his dress shoes and grabbed his briefcase, making his way downstairs. He picked up his keys, making his way out to get in his car. He opened the black car door, stepping inside and started driving to work.
After a few minutes of driving, he parked his car in his spot, and stepped out, making his way towards the hospital. He knew that as soon as he stepped through the doors, nurses in scrubs and other doctors would be panicking around to ensure everything was professional. He fixed his hair with his hand, and walked inside.
Instantly, he saw people running around, getting out of his way and getting into their places to stay out of trouble. He showed no emotion, and calmly made his way to his office, on the third floor. The watch on his wrist read 6:10 AM.
Once he was inside, he closed the door behind him. He set his briefcase down under his desk, and walked to the small room at the back, where he kept his medical attire.
He shrugged on his white coat, and draped a stethoscope over his neck. He dropped some pens in the small pocket over his chest, and fixed the cuffs against his wrists. He walked out of the little room, and moved to sit down on his desk. He pulled out some patient files from his briefcase, and started reviewing them.
