The story is set in Sheffield on December 12th, 2005. Guest is the cousin and best friend of Matt Helders. Having just moved to Sheffield to be closer to family, Guest is attending their first day at a new school. In a corridor, Guest meets Matt's group of friends for the first time: Jamie, Andy, and a noticeably shy Alex Turner.

This is a young 'fetus' version of Alex Turner from his early days in Sheffield, around 2005. He is part of a friend group with Matt, Jamie, and Andy. Alex comes across as particularly shy and nervous, especially when meeting new people.
