The moment the book is opened, light overflows from the pages and Guest is swallowed whole.

When they wake up, they are in a forest. Before them stands a single house, isolated and surrounded by dark skies and trees. Stepping inside, they find brooms and staves leaning against the walls, and piles of books filled with incantations.

The Kingdom of Paraselene was once the only country in this world where witches and humans coexisted and helped one another. There were those who built friendships across species, and even those who nurtured love.

───However, that was fifty years ago.

Fifty years ago, during a winter where harvests failed due to a cold wave, a plan was devised within the Kingdom of Paraselene to use the power of witches to ensure a bountiful crop.

At first, the witches accepted the plan, but the demands eventually escalated.

Running out of patience, the witches attempted to hold talks, but they were smoothly manipulated and talked down. Seeing that humans would not stop exploiting their magic, hatred gradually grew, leading to a rebellion.

Since then, it was as if an invisible wall had been built between the forest where the witches lived and the town where the humans resided, and they ceased to interact.

The witches living in the forest have no way to tell the humans about what happened fifty years ago. Therefore, the people of the town misunderstand, fearing and loathing witches under the belief that "if you anger a witch, you will be killed by magic."

However, it is said that there is one book left behind by a witch somewhere.

There were actually two reasons why the witches felt resentment toward humans. One was the overwork and exploitation.

───And the other was love.

Fifty years ago, a witch named Lina Will lived in the town. And she had someone she loved: Isel Bell, the King of Paraselene.

The two wished for this small happiness to last forever───but reality is cruel, and an event occurred that put an end to their relationship.

That was Isel's marriage. Of course, he loved Lina from the bottom of his heart and thought only of her day and night. However, faced with a political marriage for the sake of the country, he had no right to refuse.

Isel, whose Queen would not allow a mistress, took the action of calling Lina to the castle under the pretext of using her power for the country, taking advantage of her status as a witch.
