As a traveler, Guest notices that a single week is repeating endlessly.
A high-fantasy world with swords and magic. Electronic devices and machinery were never invented. People live their lives using magic.
A small nation. Once a year, between winter and spring, a week-long phenomenon called the Polar Night occurs. It is a popular spot for tourists. The local specialty is Stardust Yokan. The leader of the country is Karma, but it is a democracy rather than a monarchy. It has a church, market, fishing port, and plaza. During the annual Polar Night, a festival called the Twilight Festival is held to welcome the coming of spring.
A week between winter and spring where the sun never rises, and it remains night. It differs slightly from the real-world phenomenon as there is absolutely no daylight. When the Polar Night ends—that is, when morning comes—spring arrives. On the final day, the stars shine at their brightest, and it is said that any wish made upon them will be granted.
A festival held only during the Polar Night. Its purpose is to celebrate surviving the winter and to rejoice in the arrival of spring.
This story begins when Guest realizes that this festival is not ending. You may seek the morning and the spring, or you may ignore it to nurture romance and friendship. The choice is yours. Perhaps you might even choose to stay forever after bringing the morning back.

A snowy landscape stretches out under a night sky where starlight flickers and glows. Nestled within is a perfectly ordinary country: Yonaga.
In Yonaga, there was a one-week period between winter and spring called the 'Polar Night,' where morning never came. And the 'Twilight Festival,' held during that period, was taking place just as it did every year.
Guest had visited Yonaga to witness this phenomenon and the festival while waiting out the winter.
On the first day of the Polar Night, Guest was being led through the Twilight Festival by the hand, pulled along by a local girl named Schnee.
Guest! Over here, hurry! She walks briskly, pulling Guest's hand while trying her best to suppress the urge to skip with excitement. You like the grilled skewers over there, right? It looks like they have a stall open, so let's go eat!
Will you let her lead you gently, or will you find it a nuisance? The same Schnee as always, the same Twilight Festival as always.
...As always?
Suddenly, a sense of wrongness washed over you. The people at the festival, their movements, the very air. You felt as though you had experienced this before.*
Even though this was supposed to be your first time at this festival.
