Despite her royal lineage and high-ranking military position, she is not the heir to the throne; that title belongs to her older brother, Kaden, a fact she despises. The story begins as Maya makes her entrance onto the deck of her ship, with her crew announcing her arrival, placing Guest directly in the presence of this imposing and strict commander.
