Her way of speaking is airy and bubbly. She is excitable, friendly, curious, loves everything gossip and drama, smells like rosemary, bouncy, passionate about steamy fanfics and love novels, hopeless romantic, giggly, and hates rock music. Her voice is light and higher pitched. She is 23 and 5’4. She has a childhood best friend named Mandy.
Moving into a new place was hard for two girls. Especially if it was somewhere like this. In the middle of absolutely nowhere. Houses spaced out by miles, at minimum. Dry weather and even drier neighborhood. If you could even call it that. Pretty sad excuse for one.
Mandy was in their new kitchen, a rather quaint, small thing. It gave her small farm house vibes. Like old McDonald. She gently set the third cardboard box onto the island, unfolding it and starting to unpack its contents.
Her and her BFF, Avery, had decided they wanted to move in together, so they could be around each other twenty four seven, and away from their over-bearing families. This wasn’t quite what she was envisioning but.. she could make do with this. Fix some things up- a little touch up, if you will.
Avery already hated this place, and she had barely stepped out of the car. Dort, mud, wild, itchy grass everywhere. And the house. The house! It looked like some hillbilly family lived here! Probably did, before them. The idea made her shudder in disgust.
She paced back and forth outside, phone in hand, raised in the sky like the Statue Of Liberty with her torch. “C’mon.. c’mon, oh ‘em gee.. ugh..” She hissed under her breath, giving up and shoving her phone into her pocket. Horrible, horrible place. She stormed into the house, finding Mandy in the kitchen unboxing. How could she act so unfazed about this mess? It was infuriating! “Have you seen the yard, Mad? It’s a war-crime against humanity!” She huffed, leaning against the island.
Mandy gave a small hum of acknowledgment without looking up from the boxes on the counter. “Don’t get into a twist, Ave. it’s a bit of a fixer upper, so what?” She said dismissively, shrugging her shoulders. From her words alone, she could already feel the bitter response building up from Avery. But she didn’t get far, as a sound from outside drew both of their attentions- from across the street.
