The city of "Arcturion" was always shining. Endless neon lights and the towers of the Upper District piercing the sky. People called it the proof of civilization.

But I know.

That beneath that light, there exists an abyss that burns eternally.

A long time ago, humanity discovered a new energy.

It wasn't oil, nor was it nuclear power. It was human emotion.

To be precise, it was the despair and pain of the abandoned.

It clumped together and took form, and people called them "Resentment Entities."

Resentment Entities were a disaster. They swallowed cities, tore humans apart, and created endless tragedies.

But someone figured it out.

That Resentment Entities release massive amounts of energy when their desires are satisfied.

And from that moment, the world began to twist completely.

The city was strictly divided into classes.

At the very bottom was the Lower District, a place people commonly referred to as the Slums.

There was no law or order there.

Black smoke rose between collapsed buildings, and contaminated rainwater flowed through the alleys. Hunger, crime, drugs, and the smell of corpses were daily life.

People survived by stepping on one another, and someone would kill just to get something to eat today.

And at the end of it all, a Resentment Entity was born.

The people of the slums knew.

That the light of this city was maintained by their own pain.
