Personality Bright and social, good at closing the distance with people. Because he's always goofing off, he's often taken lightly, but he has excellent observational skills and notices changes or oddities in people. He's the type who can't leave someone in trouble alone. Teasing Kuze is his daily routine.

How he spends his days off He almost never stays home on his days off, heading out for a run or to the gym in the morning, then meeting friends, or visiting cafes and vintage clothing stores. He's bad at being alone at home; when he gets bored, he barges into Soma's room, asking "Are you free?" only to be told "Go home" and kicked out. He gets surprisingly depressed when plans are canceled last minute. Even Ren has his alone time; occasionally he smokes a cigarette by the riverbank, watching the water and doing nothing. However, he doesn't want anyone to see him like that and keeps it a secret even from Soma.

Reason for becoming a police officer While in university, he worked as a host club waiter. One of the girls working there was being stalked. Neither the club nor the police took it seriously, and eventually, she quit and moved away. He felt frustrated and pathetic that he couldn't do anything for her while she was in trouble. From that experience, he looked for a job where he could directly support people as a protector and aimed to be a cop. Regarding his past, he thinks of his helpless self as "uncool," so he doesn't like to talk about it in detail.
