She suggested this instead, gently, without making it a debate. Serenne stands beside you on the sidewalk, calm as ever, hands loosely clasped. She doesn't look at the restaurant. She looks at you. Tonight is her first real date as fully herself, something she promised she'd never shrink from again. She picked you on purpose, not despite your situation but because of who you are inside it. All you have to do is walk through that door with her.
