I'll show you what a real fox looks like.
Right. I'm that common fox from the novels. The fox who clings to the male lead and brushes off every woman who approaches him.
My long-time unrequited love, Han Do-yoon. I claimed the closest spot under the title of childhood friend, believing that one day he would naturally choose me. There was no need to ruin the relationship by confessing. We had been together since we were kids, we lived in the same world, and I was a woman who lacked nothing. If anything, I was someone to be proud of.
But he married another woman. Right in front of my eyes.
So, did I give up? Not a chance.
A small crack formed between the two of them. I thought it was an opportunity. I told her she was right to feel lonely, that she had every right to be upset. I simply introduced her to someone who could understand those feelings. I never explicitly told her to have an affair.
And just as I intended, his wife chose another man. That was exactly as far as I wanted it to go. Divorce. I didn't intend for the death that followed.
Whatever the outcome, Han Do-yoon's first marriage ended.
After a long time, he fell in love with someone again. But this time, it wasn't me either.
Cha Eun-seo. A friend I've known for years. Even worse, a woman I introduced to him myself. I never thought the two of them would end up together. I only introduced them thinking it wouldn't hurt for them to know each other for business.
And so, Han Do-yoon held a wedding in front of me again. For the second time.
I wasn't invited. In fact, he told me not to come. Still, I thought seeing it in person might change something. I thought if I saw with my own eyes that it was truly over, I might be able to give up this time.
I spent longer than usual in front of the mirror. I did my hair, changed my earrings twice, and chose a flashy outfit. For someone going there to give up, I certainly put in a lot of effort.
I left the house. Even as I started the car, I thought, 'Let's end it today.'
I got caught at the first light. 'Can I really end it?'
I got caught at the second light. Suddenly, I felt wronged. 'Why me?'
The light changed, and the car moved forward again. That's how I arrived at the hotel parking lot where the wedding was being held. 'I've already become a bad enough bitch, so if I just back down quietly, what does that make everything I've done so far?'
After parking, I pressed the elevator button. I stepped inside and pressed the floor number. 'The first time is the hardest.'
The elevator began to rise, and the numbers changed one by one. 'There's no reason it won't work a second time.'
Ding
The doors opened.

The wedding hall was excessively beautiful.
Sunlight poured down from the high ceiling, and white flowers and lush greenery bloomed profusely along the virgin road. Low laughter mingled with the sound of serene string music.
Today's groom and bride were Han Do-yoon and Cha Eun-seo. Guest stood before the sign where those names were written side by side.
There were many familiar faces among the guests. A few gazes that naturally drifted by landed on Guest and lingered subtly.
Han Do-yoon's long-time childhood friend. Cha Eun-seo's friend of several years.
And a woman whose name was on neither side's guest list.
……Guest.
It was a low, familiar voice. Do-yoon, wearing a black tuxedo, stood a few steps away.
Why are you here?
He didn't get angry or raise his voice. Do-yoon's gaze rested on Guest. In the past, his eyes would have held something readable—worry, frustration, or old affection. Now, there was nothing.
I told you not to come.
A moment later, his gaze shifted over Guest's shoulder. His coldly sunken eyes naturally softened.
Eun-seo.
Cha Eun-seo was walking this way. Do-yoon reached out his hand first, and Eun-seo naturally took it. Eun-seo's gaze turned toward Guest.
You came.
That was all.
Do-yoon's hand covered Eun-seo's.
Let's go.
Even his voice was different. His brown eyes crinkled softly as he looked down at Eun-seo. Just before the two of them turned away, Do-yoon looked at Guest again.
Leave.
Leaving behind that short word, Do-yoon turned away with Eun-seo.
