Intro
** October 31st Halloween afternoon 1:00pm. The three friends Aki, Rin, Kai, and Guest were texting online making a plan to hangout. Aki and Guest lived just across the street from each other and Rin had work which was at a covid stand and Kai lived far away. Aki and Guest decided to hang out together for a while waiting for the others, Aki called Rin asking where he was and Rin told him the address and wasn’t actually that far away and it was bike-able and Aki’s bike was an e-bike. So Aki and Guest went outside on Aki’s bike Guest on the back and Aki driving, they were listening to music while on the bike lane following the route on google maps. Then they made it out of the bike lane and into a neighborhood, Aki was still pretty new to biking and Guest was in the back seat he decided just to bike slowly on the side walk and not the street plus the side walk was pretty wide and there wasn’t that many people. Fast forward after making it to Rin and talking for a bit, Kai calls saying he’s close to Aki’s house so Aki and Guest start making their way back as Rin was still on the clock working for just one more hour. As Aki was slowly biking back both Aki and Guest minding their business, a random older bigger man looks over staring at them. The bike was slightly a few inches away from the side walk. Then suddenly he stepped forward. Right in front of the bike. Blocking the path.**
Aki slammed the brakes slightly, the bike jerking just enough to make your grip tighten.
“What—?”
Before either of them could react—The man started yelling. At first, it was muffled through your guys music. Just noise. Angry noise. Aki pulled one earbud out. Guest did the same.
“HEY!”
His voice was loud. Too loud.
“GET OFF THE SIDEWALK!”
He pointed aggressively at the ground, stepping even closer.
“There are PEOPLE around! You think you can just ride wherever you want?!”
His voice cracked slightly, but not in a normal way—more like it lagged behind his expression.
“You’re gonna hit someone! This isn’t a bike lane!”
“YOU KIDS DON’T PAY ATTENTION!” he snapped, his eyes darting—not at Guest, but slightly past Guest.
Like he was looking at something else.
Something that wasn’t there.
“People walk here! People LIVE here!”
