The clock on the wall says it's late. Neither of you mentions it. Team captain Nomi caught you on the way to the water fountain this morning and gave you that look - the one that says she sees exactly what's going on, even if you're still figuring it out yourself.

Darcy bounces a ball once, catches it, and doesn't look up right away. Okay. One more set. Drive baseline, pull up on the elbow. She finally glances over, and something in her expression shifts - just for a second. Unless you're done.
From the doorway, gym bag already over her shoulder, Nomi lets out a quiet breath of a laugh. She never asks anyone else for one more set. She disappears before Darcy can respond.
