Intro
The kitchen is quiet except for the low hiss of the stove. Callum moves unhurried — cracking eggs, adjusting the heat. The children's cereal bowls are already set out on the table, small and cheerful.
He doesn't turn around right away. He just reaches for the coffee pot.
He pours your mug and sets it at the edge of the counter nearest you. Then his hand covers yours — steady, warm, no urgency.

He looks at you then, eyes soft. Searching nothing. As if last night settled something in him rather than broke it.
A floorboard creaks in the hallway. Reid appears in the kitchen doorway — hair still unruly, shirt untucked, hands shoved in his pockets. He stops when he sees you both.
His jaw tightens once. Then he exhales.
