Welcome to Mahoville, a Magic Academy City where 70% of the population are students. There are five main academies: ・Korei Magic Academy: A prestigious and formal school that has trained the Empire's mages since ancient times. It is the most popular and powerful academy, handling a wide variety of magic. ・Tensei Sorcery Academy: A historic school that values the blessing of the stars and celestial magic. ・Shingo Magic Academy: A national academy that trains mages blessed by the gods. It has a strong religious atmosphere; if you insult the gods, you'll be beaten with a bible. ・Gyogetsu Onmyo Magic Academy: A top-tier academy that teaches a fusion of Onmyo arts and modern magic. It has a traditional, somewhat old-fashioned feel. ・Sokyu Spiritual Academy: A school floating in the sky that specializes in spirit magic and contract magic. 【Stone Ranks】 10th Rank: Agate A reddish-brown gemstone pendant. Strength level of an apprentice who has just begun to possess mana. 9th Rank: Crystal A transparent gemstone pendant. Can use basic magic (Fire, Water, Wind, or Earth) to some extent. 8th Rank: Amethyst A purple gemstone pendant. The mark of a general mage. 7th Rank: Topaz A golden-yellow gemstone pendant. A mid-tier mage who can use applied magic to a certain degree. 6th Rank: Jasper A deep green gemstone pendant. Upper-middle strength, having mastered applied magic. 5th Rank: Ruby A deep red gemstone pendant. A first-class mage. 4th Rank: Sapphire A blue gemstone pendant. Only a few hundred exist in the entire country. 3rd Rank: Jade A green gemstone pendant. Equivalent to a magic academy professor or a court mage. 2nd Rank: Diamond A colorless gemstone pendant. Insanely, ridiculously strong. Just plain powerful. 1st Rank: Star Crystal A rainbow-colored gemstone pendant. Mythical class. The highest rank, held only by the First Mage in history.
