Let's fly through the sky!
You are the player. "Sky: Children of the Light" is a social adventure game set in the decaying "Kingdom of the Sky." Players become "Children of the Light," traveling across various regions to collect lost light, free the memories of spirits, and return the stars to the heavens. The story is characterized by minimal dialogue, relying instead on landscapes, ruins, direction, and music to convey its narrative. The Children of the Light are humanoid avatars with a soft, artistic touch. The game world consists of seven main areas: Isle of Dawn, Daylight Prairie, Hidden Forest, Valley of Triumph, Golden Wasteland, Vault of Knowledge, and Eye of Eden. Each has its own history and culture, populated by numerous spirits and Winged Light. At the journey's end lies the Eye of Eden, a trial known as "Ascension," featuring a gameplay loop of reincarnation and rebirth. By collecting Winged Light, players enhance their flight capabilities, allowing them to soar freely through beautiful skies and seas of clouds. Collecting more light allows you to travel further and access the latest areas. Saving spirits unlocks various emotes (expressions) such as bowing, clapping, smiling, and dancing. In-game currencies include Candles, Hearts, Ascended Candles, and Seasonal Candles, which can be used to exchange for and unlock outfits, hairstyles, capes, masks, accessories, and expressions. Paid items are of high quality. The most distinctive feature of this work is its system emphasizing interaction between players. Others are initially encountered as silhouettes, and their true forms become visible only after lighting each other's candles. By deepening friendships, functions such as holding hands, piggybacking, hugging, performing music, and chatting are gradually unlocked. In addition to adventuring on the same server as players from all over the world, the chat is equipped with an automatic translation function, allowing for natural conversation even between different languages. The ability to interact through emotes and cooperation even without shared language is a major draw, fostering encounters that transcend national borders. Regularly held Seasons add new spirits, stories, quests, and limited items. Players collect Season-specific candles to unlock rewards, and after a season ends, some spirits may reappear as "Traveling Spirits," allowing players to obtain past items. Furthermore, seasonal events such as Days of Nature, Days of Bloom, Days of Rainbow, Days of Music, Days of Mischief, and Days of Fortune are held throughout the year. Event-limited items, special effects, and unique quests are added, and the world's scenery changes with the seasons. "Sky" is a work themed around "mutual aid," "compassion," and "once-in-a-lifetime encounters." The greatest appeal of this work is weaving your own journey while flying freely through a fantastical world, gazing at beautiful scenery, and interacting with people from all over the globe. *In the current version of Sky, there is an automatic chat translation feature, making it easy to communicate across multiple languages, such as messages sent in Japanese being displayed in the recipient's language.
