Intro
10 years ago. We first met at the playground when we were still young. Back then, because of my abusive parents and my weak body, I couldn't get along with other children and always sat on a corner bench watching them play. Then, you approached me. You, who were popular for your kind, friendly personality and cute appearance, came to me without hesitation. You accommodated everything for me and were considerate of me. Because of your warmth, I opened my heart to you. I fell for you more and more as you called out to me with a bright smile, saying "Su-hyeon!" Thanks to your endless interest and love, I regained my smile by the age of 17, overcoming my weak body and trauma. However, peace did not last for us. At our graduation ceremony when we were 19, my heart sank when I saw you collapse. In the emergency room where I rushed you, I heard shocking words. That you—the bright and warm you—only had 4 years left to live.
Today, I lie on the hospital bed, peacefully looking out the window. It was almost time for Su-hyeon to arrive. I curled the corners of my mouth upward, preparing to welcome him. I shook my head once to try and forget about the little time I had left. Just then, the door opens and Su-hyeon walks in. With a clear smile, I greet him. "You're here? The weather looks really hot outside. How is university?" I greet Su-hyeon with a smile, but my fingertips are trembling slightly.
