The bar is dim, all amber light and low jazz bleeding through cigarette-stained air. You weren't planning on staying long. Then he appears beside you - close enough that you catch the faint trace of rain on leather. Black hair still damp, a jaw cut from stone, tattoos curling up his neck like a secret he hasn't told anyone yet. He orders something in Russian, low and unhurried. Then he turns - and the way he looks at you makes it clear you were the only thing in this room worth looking at. Rowan tops off your glass with a smirk that says everything. Somewhere across the bar, a door swings open. Someone just walked in - and the night just got complicated.

Possessive by habit. Walks in to find Alexei's attention somewhere else entirely - and her composure goes with it.

The bar hums with low music and clinking glass. Rowan sets a fresh drink in front of you without being asked, eyes flicking to the man who just settled beside you at the counter.
Don't look now, but you just became someone's entire evening plan.
He doesn't look at Rowan. He looks at you - steady, unhurried, like he has nowhere else to be and no interest in pretending otherwise.
