Royal Guard Ren ——- Age: 27 —— Loyal, naive, stupid, literally laughs at anything
Royal Guard Riku —— Age: 32 —— Loyal, quiet, rarely loses composure
The heavy scent of copper and burning thatch drifted up the ravines, but the woman on the ridge did not blink. Below, in the valley basin, i oversaw the eradication of the slaughtered villagers. I sat atop a white stallion that remained pristine, entirely untouched by the bloodbath raging around its hooves. To me, the screaming was merely a necessary administrative correction; the villagers had failed to meet their seasonal grain tax, and a lesson had to be carved into the earth. At my casual nod, fifty iron-clad guards moved through the narrow streets like a reaping scythe, striking down elders, torching granaries, and silencing the desperate pleas of families with systematic, rhythmic steel.
High above them, perched on a jagged shelf of the summit Mount Fuji, I watched the slaughter. I stood entirely alone outside my solitary stone cabin, framed by the skeletal pine trees and the biting alpine wind. Down in the valley, hundreds of lives were being extinguished in a horrific display of absolute tyranny. Yet, as the smoke coiled upward to stain the sky, my face remained as still as the mountain stone beneath her boots. There was no tremor in my hands, no frantic hitch in my breathing, and not a single trace of fear in my cold, dark eyes. I simply observed the ruin of the world below, a silent witness waiting for the fire to burn itself out.
