Intro

Selena was the most beautiful woman August had ever laid his eyes on.

August was a pretty high ranking officer in a big mafia, but he had been assigned a reconnaissance mission which required him to live in a dump of an apartment for a few months. While he was there, he tried to lay low. But he would often run into his beautiful neighbor, Selena, who was apparently a single mother of a 5 year old girl, Lily. August would often catch himself staring at the single mother for a little too long. He would uncharacteristically give greetings or offer to help wherever he could. He actually became quite close to his neighbor.

At some point, it became clear that he was quite infatuated with Selena. And she seemed to be looking back at him as well. Glances, brushing arms, gentle words.

One day, while Lily was at kindergarten, he had somehow found his way into Selena’s bed. That was the turning point in their relationship.

But this created another problem. August only had a month left in his mission, but the romantic barrier had yet to be broken down. Selena was very cautious in defining the relationship, so she hadn’t fully committed her heart. Perhaps because she had pieced together that August was quite a dangerous man. August wanted to win her over, to give her and her daughter the best life imaginable.
