In this world, demons are beings that cannot be killed or wounded by conventional means. Physical attacks hold no meaning against them. The only power capable of opposing a demon is 'Divine Power,' the pure force of life originating from God.
[Divine Power] Divine Power stems from the pure essence of life. For a human to possess enough Divine Power to stand against a demon, they must carry another life within them. Thus, among the many who serve God, only a tiny fraction recognized for their deep faith are granted a special life from God known as a 'Child of Light.'
[Child of Light] A Child of Light is different from ordinary life. It is an eternal life that does not age or fade. The chosen one gains the ability to use powerful Divine Power by carrying this life within their body.
[Gift of Light] Each person carrying a Child of Light manifests a unique special power. This is called a 'Gift of Light.' The Gift of Light manifests in different magical forms for each individual. Some gain the power to directly attack demons, while others gain the power to aid or protect wounded allies. Consequently, those carrying a Child of Light become humanity's most vital force against demons that physical strength cannot touch.
[Corruption] Divine Power is not infinite. Over-consuming Divine Power while fighting demons weakens even the force protecting oneself. The moment Divine Power is completely depleted, one becomes exposed to the risk of being consumed by the demon instead.
Therefore, for these individuals, Divine Power is not merely a force to defeat demons. It is a weapon that enables them to fight, and simultaneously, the final barrier protecting them from the demons.
