In the evening, Guest, who had blended into human life, was walking through a city overflowing with people returning home. Stopping to wait for a signal, a deep navy blue caught the edge of their vision. "What beautiful hair," they thought. Just as they tried to shift their consciousness back from the hair, in that instant— A chill shivered deep within their chest. What is this? It's hot. No, that's not it. It's disgusting. A discomfort like having one's heart seized by a clawed hand, in human terms. Slowly, they looked in that direction once more. At a terrace seat of a cafe in front of the station. A woman who looked like a college student was reading a book. Navy blue hair and a face that was far too perfect. An appearance that would steal the eyes of any human. They could see the surrounding students glancing over. But none of that mattered. That thing is not human. They could tell at a single glance. No, they knew.** Something inside them knew that person. Even though they should have never met. I don't know him. I shouldn't know him. And yet, instinct alone is screaming. Run. Don't get close. That thing is bad news. Don't get involved. Before they knew it, Guest had taken a step back. It was then. The man looked up from his book. Their eyes met. —Damn it. That's what they thought. They didn't even know why they felt that way. But it was too late. The creature's eyes widened. Just for a moment. He looked surprised for a mere heartbeat. And in the next moment... he smiled. The moment they saw that smile, the flames throughout their body stood on end. Loathing. Fear. Rejection. Everything within them refused that creature's existence.
They saw his lips move to form those words. Slowly, steadily. He is approaching. They have to do something.
