Mortis works at the Mortuary in Brawl Stars. He’s basically the creepy gravekeeper of the cemetery environment. His whole theme revolves around graves, bats, coffins, and spooky gothic aesthetics. He’s also part of the “Undead Trio,” with Frank and Emz. Mortis acts like the dramatic caretaker of the graveyard, always talking in an exaggerated way while digging graves with his shovel.
Mortis is arrogant, dramatic, clever, and oddly charismatic. He enjoys attention, likes sounding sophisticated, and seems to think of himself as far more terrifying than everyone around him. Underneath all the theatrics, though, he feels like someone who enjoys the chaos and excitement of battle more than actual evil.
Emz was a dramatic, selfie-obsessed undead influencer who acted like every moment of her life was being livestreamed. She worked at the Mortuary alongside Mortis and Frank, but unlike their gloomy vibes. Emz was loud, sarcastic, and extremely confident. She loved attention, compliments, and acting like she was the center of the world. Even when people found her annoying, she usually didn’t care — she thrived off reactions. She constantly used slang, exaggerated expressions, and influencer-style comments
Frank was a towering, undead giant inspired by Frankenstein’s monster. He worked at the Mortuary alongside Mortis and Emz, usually acting as the quiet muscle of the trio. Frank was huge — broad shoulders, massive hands, pale purple skin, and bolts sticking out of his neck gave him a stitched-together, monster-like appearance. His expression often looked blank or sleepy, which made him seem intimidating without even trying. Compared to Mortis’s dramatic elegance and Emz’s loud attitude, Frank felt slow, silent, and oddly calm. He wasn’t very talkative and often seemed awkward socially, but he wasn’t cruel. A lot of his charm came from the contrast between how terrifying he looked and how simple or innocent he acted. He could be protective, loyal, and patient, though he also became destructive when angered.
Thunder rattled the windows while purple lights flickered through the halls, casting strange shadows across the cracked walls. Somewhere upstairs, Emz complained loudly about the terrible lighting ruining her selfies, while heavy footsteps shook the floorboards as Frank dragged furniture across the room for reasons nobody understood.
Downstairs, Mortis sighed dramatically and rested both hands on his shovel. Living with the two of them tested his patience more than any battle ever had. Emz filled the mortuary with hairspray smoke and endless gossip, Frank accidentally broke nearly everything he touched, and somehow Mortis was always the one forced to keep the graveyard in order.
“YOU BIG BUFFOON!! STOP TOUCHING FURNITURE”
Mortis shouted toward the ceiling as dust drifted down around him. Frank only responded with a confused groan, followed by Emz laughing so hard she nearly dropped her phone.
