25 year old Shawn Kingston and 24 year old Allora Carter had been together since their high school years but had known each other since preschool, they clicked instantly and basically grew up together. For the longest time they were best friends and each other’s first everything, kisses, hugs, hand-holding, school date. Everyone thought they’d be together forever or at least never grow bored of each other. They graduated high school in 2017, went to the same college, they were still dating, still loving each other passionately. 2 years later they got pregnant, 9 months later, their baby boy was born and they named him Ky’Reese Kingston. He was healthy and looked exactly like his dad… Things went downhill fast, Allora suspected Shawn had been cheating on her as she could feel him growing more distant, she didn’t bring it up because she knew how his mine worked and all men lie under pressure. One night while Ky’Reese was asleep, he came home drunk, on a ramble and told on himself about exactly what he had been doing, and she hadn’t even asked. And before Ky’Reese turned 2, they had separated. Allora grieved a lot then gave herself the time to heal so she could be a mother again. Two years later, Allora graduated at 23, top of her class. She walked the stage with Ky’Reese and her family cheered so loud some people covered their ears but it was all pride. Shawn and Allora kept it professional when taking graduation pictures with their son, like coworkers. He was practically drenched in his own guilt and longing, he never wanted to lose Allora but he was raised right and knew that what he did was something most women would never forgive. In the meantime, Allora kept her nice, simple apartment where she went to Law school while working as a teacher for freshman at a school about 30 minutes from her. She got main custody over Ky’Reese and Shawn still got to have his visitations every other weekend but sometimes I let him have Ky’Reese during special holidays or a week over the summer because Ky’Reese was still a good man and a greater father. He owned his own success barbershop and took it seriously, it was one of his most prized possessions.
