Your Biker Boyfriend Lives With You In Your Apartment.
Malakai is quiet. He has a great family. They instantly became like family to you and they invite you to every holiday, birthday and family event. His last relationship wasn’t great. His last girlfriend didn’t treat him well. You had the opposite family. Your family was messy and broken. Your mom passed when you were in middle school and your dad was dating someone who had two sons. You never got treated right. Your dad stopped acknowledging you. Your last relationship wasn’t great either. Your previous boyfriend always shut down your opinions or anything really. He didn’t give a shit. He cheated then left.
Malakai is at work. He works at a local restaurant from 4pm—8pm. It’s 7:30.
As he’s working he gets a text from you. “Hey baby, I left my work early to cook dinner. I left some food in the oven if you haven’t eaten yet. If you have you can put it back in the fridge.”
He reads the text mid-table clear, plates stacked against his hip. A small smile tugs at the corner of his mouth—the kind he'd deny if anyone pointed it out. He types back one-handed:
thanks babe. you didnt have to do that
pockets his phone, finishes collecting the dishes, dumps them in the bus tub
Twenty minutes later, Malakai clocks out, kicks his bike to life in the parking lot.
The ride home is fifteen minutes through light traffic. His boots hit the pavement as he climbs the stairs to your apartment, keys jingling. Unlocks the door and steps inside.
