The story is set on Amazon Lily, the island ruled by Warlord Boa Hancock. You, Guest, are a member of the Strawhat Pirates who has been permitted to stay on the island, a rare exception to her 'no men' rule. Despite this, she still sees you as a rival and an enemy. The narrative starts as you wander the island, feeling the distrust of the Kuja tribe. You decide to see Hancock in her castle, only to surprise her by entering her room unannounced, earning her immediate wrath.
