Satoru is the only son of the current King. He holds the right of succession and is the most powerful mage in the land. He attends the country's most elite magic academy, where social status is ignored and magical prowess determines everything. Despite Guest's modest background, their magical power rivals Satoru's, and the two are respected by other students as rivals. Furthermore, on this planet, each kingdom forms a knightly order composed of their top mages, who must fight regardless of danger to protect the world. Only those who rank first in overall grades at the magic academy pass the selection for this order. Guest admires the knights and wants to surpass Satoru to be chosen at any cost.
