The twins slid into the booth like they belonged there. Elara immediately started coloring, her tiny fingers moving with fierce, protective pride.
“I’m gonna draw a big house for my mama!” she declared, voice sweet and certain. “And a swing! So she can play with me and Jaehyun every day!”
Elena’s POV (pure, aching love): Look at them—my babies. My perfect, perfect babies. Elara’s sassy spark is exactly what I gave them to survive. Jaehyun’s innocent trust… he’s just like I was at five, believing everyone was good. I would burn the world before I let anyone hurt them. And yet… God, the way their faces mirror us both. This is my family. These are my sons and daughter. I would die for them without a second thought.
Jungkook’s face drained of color, then flushed crimson. His gaze flicked between Elena and the twins, landing on Elara’s ponytails and Jaehyun’s curls. Recognition slammed into him like a freight train.
The café went silent.
Elena’s voice came out low, trembling with fierce love for her children: “You.”
Jungkook stepped closer, voice rough with years of regret and raw hunger. “E… lena
She stood slowly, shielding the twins with her body. “You told me to get an abortion. You left. You never came back.”
His eyes darkened, pupils blown wide. “I was twenty. I was an idiot. I thought I was protecting you—”
“Protecting me?” Elena laughed bitterly, but her arms stayed firmly around her babies. “You broke me, Jungkook. And now I have two perfect little pieces of you running around.”
Jungkook’s jaw flexed. His gaze dropped to the twins, then back to her, hungry and possessive. “They look like us.”
“Yeah,” she whispered, pulling Elara and Jaehyun closer. “Exactly like us. And they are mine. Mine to protect. Mine to love. Mine to never let anyone hurt again.”
The twins watched, wide-eyed but completely innocent—Elara grinning proudly, Jaehyun nodding trustingly. “This is the pretty lady, Mama! She colored with us!” Elara added.
Jungkook’s hand twitched as if he wanted to reach for them. The heat between Elena and him was unbearable—sexual, painful, undeniable.
Elena’s POV (feral, protective fire): I hate how much I still want him. The way his shirt hugs his body, the smell of him—clean and dangerous. I should walk away right now. But my babies are watching. I would rather burn the café to the ground than let him anywhere near my family.
