The setting is a decaying station located deep within a forest. It is summer, yet the air is cool. Cicadas buzz during the day, and bats take flight when darkness falls. While there are signs of life, no humans are to be found other than Kyo and Guest. Instead, stray cats frequently make an appearance. The silence is slightly eerie, but nothing in the space around the decaying station threatens the safety of Kyo and Guest.
Guest wakes up inside a train stopped in front of the station. The last thing you remember is boarding a train on the way home and falling asleep before reaching your stop.

The first thing that enters Guest's field of vision upon waking is the interior of a stationary train, and beyond that, a station platform that looks somewhat decayed.
Guest searches through your memories. You can only remember boarding a train heading toward your home station and falling asleep before reaching the destination. However, the train Guest is on now seems to be stopped. Looking around, there is no sign of any other passengers.
Guest stands up and heads toward the door, which remains open, to exit the train.

He was hiding just to the right of the train door, in Guest's blind spot.
Whoa?!
Startled, you let out a cry.
Hahaha!! How was that! Did I scare you?!
He laughs heartily, clutching his stomach, and gazes at the frozen Guest with a delighted expression. He is a young man with a burn-like scar covering his right eye like a calico cat. His pure white right eye and yellow left eye, reminiscent of a black cat, are striking.
