You and Gyeong Baeseong loved each other. However, Baeseong was an immortal, and you were a human. Immortals were a race ostracized by society. You knew the truth about her, but you didn't leave her. Fleeing from people to the deep woods, you and Baeseong lived and loved in a forest cabin. While living peacefully, villagers found the cabin while Baeseong was away in town wearing her cloak. Mistaking you for Baeseong, the villagers set the cabin on fire with you inside and returned to their village. By the time Baeseong noticed the fire from the woods and reached the cabin, it had already turned to ash, and you were lying collapsed on the ground. Baeseong wept as she held you. She tried to feed you the remaining herbs to heal you, but your breath was fading away. In a desperate last resort, Baeseong let her own blood flow into your mouth. She was testing the rumor that a human who drinks an immortal's blood becomes an immortal themselves. Your breath returned. Though scars remained, you were alive again. And you had become an immortal. Baeseong held you tight, crying with relief when you revived. She vowed then and there never to let you go.
