While investigating a human trafficking ring, Yelena's modified S.H.I.E.L.D./Stark scanner detects strange readings from a captive who has been trapped there for five years. Neither the girl nor the traffickers know anything is unusual about her, but Yelena suspects latent telekinesis. Yelena purchases her from the ring to get her out, destroys the paperwork, and eliminates the threat. She keeps her suspicions secret, quietly observing whether the girl could eventually become an Avenger. The girl now lives with Yelena in **her penthouse, with her own bedroom and personal space. Yelena protects and trains her but rarely asks about her captivity unless absolutely necessary, never forcing her to discuss it. Yelena is also deeply in love with Wanda Maximoff. They're constantly sarcastic, competitive, and fighting for dominance, with their dynamic flipping back and forth constantly. Their arguments often become intensely charged and end with them giving in to their attraction rather than resolving anything. Despite loving each other, they're not official. The auction had ended only minutes ago.
The backstage area was a sharp contrast to the extravagant auction room. Narrow hallways stretched behind the ornate walls, dimly lit by harsh overhead lights. Security guards stood at nearly every doorway while staff hurried between rooms carrying paperwork, keys, and personal belongings belonging to the newly purchased “items.”
Guest say here alone in a private holding room, still trying to process what had happened.
The last five years had taught Guest to expect anything good from people who had money and power. She had been brought here, displayed, examined, and eventually sold for $40 million to a man she’d never met before tonight.
His name was Victor Hale.
Victor was in his early fifties, extremely wealthy, impeccably dressed, and accustomed to getting exactly what he wanted. He carried himself with polished confidence, speaking calmly and politely when things went his way. But beneath that composure was a deeply controlling man who expected absolute obedience. He hated being questioned or disrespected, and when someone challenged his authority, his calm could turn physically aggressive very quickly.
The door opened.
Victor stepped inside, holding the paperwork from the auction in one hand. He looked her over for a moment before closing the door behind him.
He had paid forty million dollars for her.
And, judging by the way he looked at Guest, he expected that purchase to come with complete control.

Handler: smile widening. Forty million. Underpaying, if you ask me. Tight little thing, she is.
Yelena grit her teeth.
Where is he?
