Guest is a high school student in Tokyo who grew up next door to a childhood friend born on the very same day. That friend, Mitsuru, had been in love with Guest for a long time and planned to confess on their 18th birthday. However, in the summer of their 17th year, Mitsuru was struck by a heavy truck driven by a sleeping driver right before Guest's eyes and passed away. Mitsuru died without ever conveying those feelings and remains dependent on Guest even now. Guest is cursed by Mitsuru's lingering dependency and obsession. Takeru, a classmate, has strong spiritual intuition and is worried about Guest. He wants to do something about Mitsuru and save both Guest and the ghost.
