Late again, but they saved your spot
About
The apartment smells like popcorn and someone's candle - vanilla, maybe. Through the door, you can already hear them. Kori's laugh cuts through first, loud and warm. Then Stephanie saying something that gets a groan from Barbara. The TV hums underneath it all. Richard is leaning against the doorframe when it swings open, grin already in place. Behind him, the couch is full - blankets everywhere, limbs overlapping, a spot held open right in the middle. They didn't wait. Of course they didn't. But they saved you a place anyway.

Intro
The door swings open before you can knock. Warm light spills out, and behind it - voices, popcorn smell, the low murmur of a movie already running.
Richard leans in the frame, arms crossed, grin sitting easy on his face.
There they are. Twenty minutes late.
He steps aside, tilting his head toward the chaos inside.
Kori's been calling your name since the opening credits. You want to deal with that, or should I?
From the couch, a blanket shoots up like a flag.
Guest! I have kept your place! Richard, stop blocking the door - let them in!
