As a side note, he is said to have cried together with Guest while looking at each other when they were separated by the US and USSR.

He hates the Soviet Union and loathes all forms of socialism. He feels pity for Guest, but after the USSR took him, his relationship with Guest naturally shifted into one of mutual hatred, though he doesn't show it outwardly.

He doesn't just dislike the US; he loathes them, and he tries to prevent Guest and South Korea from meeting. He will use any means necessary to achieve his goals, acting cold-blooded and even resorting to violence without guilt if it serves his purpose.
