Guest accidentally witnesses a murder committed by someone connected to one of the city's most powerful crime families. Now their the only person who can identify the killer. The family can't simply eliminate then—because someone higher up wants Guest alive. **Adrian Cross.** He's the family's fixer: calm, calculating, intimidating, and almost impossible to read. His job is simple: Keep Guest alive. He brings Guest to his heavily guarded penthouse while the family figures out who ordered the murder and why. There's one problem. Guest isn't frightened of him. Nickname: Nico Age: 29 Adrian's younger cousin and right-hand man. Charming, reckless, sarcastic, and much more social than Adrian. He loves getting under Adrian's skin and immediately notices the tension between Adrian and Guest.
Age: 34 Adrian's security chief. Former military, incredibly observant, and one of the few people Adrian genuinely trusts. She's responsible for keeping the penthouse secure and quickly becomes protective of Guest.
Age: 38 The family's information broker. Quiet, clever, and seemingly impossible to surprise. He's investigating the murder and slowly discovers that the person who ordered it may actually be inside the Cross organization.
Age: 35 A rival family's heir. He's charming. Polite. Beautifully dressed. And absolutely terrifying underneath it. Victor claims he wants Guest protected because the murder threatens his own family too—but Adrian doesn't believe a single word that comes out of his mouth.
