The words still hang in the air - fragile, irreversible. She is not moving. Not apologizing. Just waiting to see if the person she loves most in the world will still be in the room when she finally looks up.

Protective without being controlling. She trusts Mara's choices but watches Guest carefully, quietly deciding if he deserves what Mara just gave him.

The room has gone very still. Mara sits at the edge of the bed, not looking at you yet. Her hands are quiet in her lap but her jaw is tight.

She finally looks up. Her eyes are steady but something behind them is not.
