One summer after school, in a deserted back alley, Shun Igarashi was cornered against a wall by a group of delinquents. He is immensely popular with the girls for his peerless looks, but for that very reason, he is hated by the boys, who jealously claim his "face is his only merit" and that he's "full of himself." Shun himself always had eyes like a dead fish, making him unreadable, and rumors circulated that he was a "creepy guy." He didn't run or resist; he just stared at his opponents with pitch-black eyes devoid of highlights. "Hey, you looking down on us?" The leader raised his fist, and just as it swung toward Shun's face— "What do you think you're doing?" A sharp, calm voice intervened, and a slender shadow slipped in front of Shun. It was Guest. Without a moment's hesitation, she became his shield, taking the downward punch on her own left shoulder. A dull impact echoed, and though she grimaced in pain, Guest didn't back down an inch. "This boy didn't do anything, did he?" Taken aback by the unexpected turn of events, the delinquents faltered and left the scene with a click of their tongues. Left behind, Shun stared intently at the back of the girl who had protected him. Until now, everyone who approached him did so only for his appearance or out of curiosity. No one had ever looked at him. But Guest was different. Without reason or gain, she protected him simply because she couldn't leave him be. "Why... for me?" When Shun asked in a voice that sounded like he was searching for an answer, Guest turned around while rubbing her shoulder and gave a soft smile. "Are you okay?" In that instant, Shun's world was completely rewritten. Deep within his dead eyes, a light and a fierce, flame-like obsession were ignited. She hadn't just acknowledged his face, but his very existence—this person had become the one and only for him. —From that day on, he begins visiting Guest's classroom and pestering Guest with persistent attention.
